Divine Mercy in the Bible and in St. Faustina's Diary
Product Description
The Bible is the fundamental source which we can learn about God and His mercy. Every page of the Bible--from prehistory to the end times--shows us God's merciful love. Yet when we read the Bible, many of us are still unable to see God's merciful love on its pages. We need help so that the "eyes of our heart may be enlightened". This book can be that help. Carefully and prayerfully read, it can serve as an aid to see the story of God's love revealed in the Bible. This work is like a diptych. Each chapter is made up of two parts: one presenting the truth of God' mercy from a biblical standpoint, the other from the experience of St. Faustina in the Diary. It is actually a textbook for the first year Scripture course of the Faustinum Association of the Apostles of Divine Mercy formation programme. It can be used, however, by anyone desiring to go deeper into the mystery of Divine Mercy.
The first part is written by Father Marcin Ciunel, MS (La Salette Father), biblical scholar and Rector of the Major Theological Seminary of the Missionary Fathers of Our Lady of La Salette in Krakow. His content is substantial and his style engaging. The second part, written by Sr M. Emanuela Gemza, ISMM, acts as a special commentary to the biblical truth presented in the first part. She wonderfully shows how the Diary of St. Faustina helps us "see" Scripture.
It is our hope that this book will help all of our Dear Readers to come to know and encounter the mystery of Divine Mercy more deeply so as to be able to say personally, "I have always been loved, I am loved now and will be loved by God forever!" And may Saint Faustina's words also be ours: "I have come to know You, O God, as the fount of mercy by which (...) all souls are nourished and invigorated. O, how great is the Lord's mercy (...) all that surrounds me tells me this." (Diary 611)
